Maintaining Your CHRP

As a CHRP holder, you are required to recertify every three years through your provincial HR Association. Recertification signifies continued mastery of the Required Professional Capabilities (RPCs) based on emerging knowledge and practice in the field of Human Resources.  After June 1, 2013 the NPPA will no longer be an option for recertification.  The only means for recertification will be the National Recertification Log.

Recertification

Certified Human Resources Professionals (CHRP)  must acquire 100 points during a three-year period to maintain the CHRP designation.  For the purposes of meeting the recertification requirements through professional development activities, individuals must consult the recertification log. The log outlines development categories and types of activities that fall within each category. Each activity is allotted recertification points. You need to accrue recertification points in a minimum of 2 categories.  All logs must be typed and include dates and points for all activities.

As a CHRP, you are required to be an HRMAM member in good standing and abide by the Code of Ethics.

Professional Development Activities
You are required to recertify by engaging in professional development activities and experience. Details on the type of activity and the number of renewal points assigned to each activity are available on the CHRP Recertification Log.  HRMAM offers opportunities to earn recertification points required to maintain the Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation. Attend our professional development events (see Calendar) and/or volunteer on an HRMAM committee (see Volunteer Postings).

Please keep original receipts and supporting documentation, as HRMAM is required to audit three percent (3%) of all logs and related documents.
