


HRMAM Scholarship Award
Description:
The HRMAM Scholarship Award recognizes a full time, post-secondary
student with an outstanding combination of academic, leadership,
extra-curricular, and human resource activities. A $500 scholarship
will be awarded to a deserving student at HRMAM's Excellence Leadership
Awards Gala in March. Two complimentary tickets to the event will also
be provided to the student so that he/she may attend this prestigious
Awards Gala.
Applications
and supporting documentation is due no later than January 31, 2013
Deadline Extended: February 8, 2013
Evaluation Factors:
- HRMAM member in good standing and will be at the time of the scholarship presentation
- Currently enrolled in a full-time program of study majoring in Human
Resources at an accredited post secondary institute in Manitoba (i.e.
degree, diploma, certificate)
- Will be continuing their studies
during the semester of the awards presentation at an accredited
post-secondary institute in Manitoba (i.e. March and/or following
September)
- Human Resource work experience (paid or voluntary) in the year preceding January 31
- HRMAM volunteer or other volunteer activities that require leadership in the year preceding January 31
- Previous scholarship recipients are not eligible to apply for a second scholarship
Definition of full time studies:Full Time Studies - student is
registered in at least 60% of the credit hours of the full time program
e.g. full time program = 30 credit hours. To be eligible, student must
be registered for 60% of 30 credit hours = 18 credit hours or 3 full
credit hour courses or 6 half (1/2) credit hour courses.
Nomination Process:The following information must be submitted by January 31:
- Completed online application form
- Official copy of the most recent academic transcript (submit to Laura Haines at lhaines@hrmam.org)
- Two completed reference letters (submitted to Laura Haines at lhaines@hrmam.org) verifying:
- Paid/voluntary human resource experience in the year preceding January 31, AND
- HRMAM or other volunteer leadership activities in the year preceding January 31
Selection Process:The
HRMAM Awards Committee will review all complete submissions received by
the deadline. Candidates will be notified of the outcome by
mid-February and the successful candidate will be recognized at HRMAM's
Excellence in Leadership Awards in April.
The HRMAM has the right to change and/or terminate this scholarship program without notice.
